Allisonville Corridor Study
Posted on Jul 5th, 2022
The City of Fishers has recently begun a process to examine roadway character, adjacent land uses, bicycle and pedestrian amenities, and other elements that together define the Allisonville Road corridor between 106th and 126th streets, including the portions of 116th Street just east and west of Allisonville Road. The goal of this study is to ensure that the corridor remains a contributing commercial destination that neighboring residents are proud of and that reflects the current vision of the city. Objectives of the study include:
• Establish an identify for the corridor.
• Define desired development characteristics for adjacent uses.
• Promote development and reinvestment in vacant and underutilized properties.
• Identify strategic city investments to support corridor redevelopment and reinvestment.
• Improve walkability between the commercial district, surrounding neighborhoods, Nickel Plate Trail, Roy G. Holland Memorial Park, and the White River.
• Support existing residential areas within and adjacent to the corridor to ensure their continued desirability as successful neighborhoods.
This online survey is an important tool in helping the planning team understand current issues and opportunities, develop a corridor vision, and inform subsequent recommendations pertaining to corridor land use and character as well as transportation safety and efficiency.
